Ilish Mach Bhapa

I love to eat any kind of fish but Hilsa is my favorite one. We can eat it in different ways. But I find the best one is when it is cooked in the Bhapa way in microwave. Try this recipe at your home.

Ingredients :

1. Ilish Maach - 750 gms ( approx 5-6 pcs )
2. Mustard Seeds - 3 tablespoon.
3. Green chillies
4. Turmeric powder

5. Poppy Seeds - 3 tablespoon
6. Salt to taste
7. Mustard Oil - 3 to 4 tablespoon.

Method of cooking:

1. Make a paste of the Mustard sees, Poppy seed with 1-2 chillies in a grinder and keep it aside.
2. Clean the pieces of fish well.

3. Take a microwave safe bowl (preferably a Borosil bowl) and keep the fish pieces carefully one beside the other.
4. Add salt, turmeric powder, the paste prepared in grinder with the mustard oil. Slit few green chillies and put it over it. Add little water. Carefully with a spoon or hand mix everything properly.
5. Cover the bowl with lid and cook in microwave for 6-7 minutes.

Bhapa Ilish is ready! Serve with hot rice.
