Masoor Dal er Bora

I prepare this vadas very frequently in rainy days.These vadas are great to munch on as it tastes. But you can also have them with any chutney or sauce of your choice.It tastes awesome when taken with hot tea.

Ingredients:

1. Red Lentil / Mushurir Dal - 1 cup.
2. Onion - 1 small, finely chopped.
3. Green Chillies - finely chopped.

Alu Chokha

This is the simplest recipe I have ever learnt! It tastes best with hot rice. Many people love to take it as a side dish with Moong dal. At night if I am late from office and not willing to cook this is the recipe which I select to cook closing my eyes.

Ingredients:

1. Potatoes mashed - 2 cups.
2. Onion - 1 large piece, chopped finely.
3. Green Chillies - finely chopped.

Dhone Patar Bora

Dhone pata or Coriander leaves are very common in most of our dishes. I prepare Dhone patar bora mostly as evening snacks with tea or with hot dal and rice at dinner. Here is the recipe of the yummy dhone patar bora.

Ingredients:

  1. Coriander Leaves ( Dhone Pata ) - 100 grams.
  2. Bengal Garam Flour ( Besan ) - 50 grams.
  3. Salt.
  4. Green Chilly - Chopped into small pieces.

Matar Paneer

My parents take only veg foods on Saturdays. My mom cooks all delicious veg dishes and among all of them a dish is there which is the most special. Are you guessing what is it? Yes, it is the very common Matar Paneer. I have learnt the recipe from her. But I feel she is the expert and I am still a learner for this recipe.

Ingredients:

1. Paneer cubes - 200 grams.
2. Potato - 2 pieces, cut in to medium pieces.
3. Green peas - 50 grams.
4. Salt.
5. Turmeric powder.
6. Ginger paste - 1 tablespoon.

Chingrir Malaikai

Prawn dishes are very common in bengalis. I love prawns. It is easily available in Bangalore and you get all sizes. My husband loves this dish when I prepare it at home. It is very easy and takes very small time to cook.

Ingredients:

1. Medium sized Prawns - 250 grams.
2. Half  small size Coconut - grated.
3. Poppy seeds - 1 tablespoon.
4. Mustard seeds - 1 tablespoon.

Alu Posto

Alu posto is a very common Bengali dish. It tastes the best when taken with hot rice and Kolai er dal.It can be prepared in 3-4 ways. But to me this one is the best among all. Try this at your home.

Ingredients:

1. Potatoes - 2 medium sized chopped in square shape.
2. Green Chilly - Slit.
3. Mustard oil - 1 tablespoon.

Dimer Curry

I love any kind of egg dish. It is my favorite. Cooking egg is very easy and it can be served with both rice and chapati. Today I prepared egg curry in my lunch and it was awesome. I am going to share that recipe with you all.

Ingredients:

1. Eggs - 3 to 4 pieces.
2. Onion - 1 large finely chopped.
3. Garlic - 2-3 cloves.
4. Garam Masala - as per taste.
5. Mustard Oil - 2 teaspoons.
6. Tomato - 1 piece.

Chicken Kasha

Chicken is very easy to cook and it can be cooked in varieties of ways. Last Saturday we had some guests invited at our home. I prepared chicken kasha for them and it was yummy!

Ingredients:

1. Chicken - 500 grams.
2. Onion - 2 to 3 large size.
3. Garlic - 10 to 12 cloves.
4. Ginger paste - 2 tablespoon.
5. Tomato - 1 piece.
6. Chilly powder.
7. Cumin powder-1/2 tablespoon.
8. Salt.
9. Turmeric powder.
10.Mustard oil.

Ilish Mach Bhapa

I love to eat any kind of fish but Hilsa is my favorite one. We can eat it in different ways. But I find the best one is when it is cooked in the Bhapa way in microwave. Try this recipe at your home.

Ingredients :

1. Ilish Maach - 750 gms ( approx 5-6 pcs )
2. Mustard Seeds - 3 tablespoon.
3. Green chillies
4. Turmeric powder
