Alu posto is a very common Bengali dish. It tastes the best when taken with hot rice and Kolai er dal.It can be prepared in 3-4 ways. But to me this one is the best among all. Try this at your home.
Ingredients:
1. Potatoes - 2 medium sized chopped in square shape.
2. Green Chilly - Slit.
3. Mustard oil - 1 tablespoon.
4. Salt.
5.Turmeric Powder.
6. Poppy seeds paste - 4 tablespoon.
7. Garlic - 1 to 2 cloves finely chopped.
Method:
1. Heat mustard oil in a pan. First add the chopped garlic and fry properly. Then add the potatoes with salt and turmeric powder.
2. Cover the pan with a lid and keep the gas flame low. Let the potatoes gets cooked properly.
3. After the potatoes soften add the poppy seeds pate. Mix well and add the slit green chillies.
Serve with hot rice and dal.
